Centre for Transport and Energy (CDE) is a non-profit non-governmental organisation that originated in 2000 by renaming the former Energy Efficiency Programme. The Programme was founded in 1995 as part of the Slunicko Foundation, since 1998 it functioned independently. The CTE sees its goal in building and reinforcing a wide platform of groups and individuals who are interested in work towards sustainable transport and energy future.

We understand energy efficiency in its broadest possible sense, and therefore our activity comprises also transport and climate change issues. Our activity is not confined to the borders of the Czech Republic, we participate actively in international network. Our executive director, Petr Hlobil, is the energy co-ordinator of CEE Bankwatch Network (a network of environmental NGOs monitoring the activities of international financial institutions), we are member of INFORSE (International Network for Sustainable Energy), Climate Action Network and European Federation for Transport and Environment - T&E.
